The Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) positions under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria
- Indian citizen with a PhD in relevant engineering/science disciplines.
- PhD awarded within the last 5 years.
- Must not have received the PhD from IIT Hyderabad.
- Age limit: 40 years at the time of application.
- Must not be in regular employment; temporary research appointments must be relinquished upon joining.
- Strong academic record and a solid publication profile are expected.
Fellowship Benfits:
- Monthly Fellowship: ₹1,08,393 (fixed, all-inclusive).
- Contingency Grant: ₹1,00,000 per year for research-related expenses.
- Direct disbursal by MeitY — no dependency on institutional budget.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research under a faculty mentor. Applicants are strongly encouraged to identify and consult a potential faculty mentor from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, before submitting their application.
- Submit monthly progress reports and contribute to departmental research initiatives.
- Acknowledge MeitY support in all publications and presentations.
